To come and explore New Zealand as a tourist for holiday, or visit purposes you need to apply for a New Zealand Tourist Visa before you arrive. 

 

There are two ways through which you may apply for a New Zealand Visitor Visa- online and paper-based. Get to know the process of applying for a New Zealand Visitor Visa by following the below-mentioned steps.

 

Step-1:

 

You require an Indian Passport holder and coming to New Zealand for a holiday or to visit family for less than 3 months or less than 6 months (from the UK)- you and your family require a visitor visa.

 

Step-2:

There are two ways of applying for a visa online.

 

a) Online

b) paper-based Visitor Visa application (1017). 

 

Step-3:

 

Gather necessary documents for your application like:

• 2 passport size color photographs. (Not more than 6 months old).

• Original passport with minimum 6 months validity from date of arrival in New Zealand and old passport if any.

• A return ticket from New Zealand or enough funds to buy one.

• Proof you have enough money to cover your expenses in New Zealand:

1. NZD 1000 per month

2. Sponsorship form (if someone is sponsoring your visit)​

   • International credit card copy and statements with limits

   • Last 3 months' salary slips (if employed)

   • Company registration proof (if self-employed)

   • Pension/retired letter (if retired)

   • No objection certificate from the school/university (if a student)

   • Medical certificate to prove good health

3. Bank statements for the last 6 months

 

The visa officer will review all the documents and application forms. The entire selection process will be solely based on your application form and relevant documents.

After getting a successful visa application approval, you will get a label in your passport or a letter. Make sure to come back on or before your visa expires.

As an Indian tourist planning to visit New Zealand on a tourist visa, you are allowed to stay for up to 9 months in an 18-month long period.
